Village Hope

Welcome to Village Hope

Our aim is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to encourage evangelism
in the villages and rural communities of Britain

We are seeking to encourage:

  • Pastors and village churches to get involved in their community.
  • Evangelists who are seeking to share the Gospel in villages.
  • People who live in rural areas who want to be more effective in their witness.

Mission Statement:

“Our aim is to proclaim and live out the gospel of Jesus Christ in the villages of Britain, in order to establish effective Christian Witness. We seek to encourage and enable village churches in Bible teaching, prayer, worship and evangelism.”

Our aim:

  • Is not only to proclaim with our mouths the gospel of Jesus Christ but to live out what we believe, in every day life.
  • Is to see effective Christian witness in the villages.
  • Is to encourage and enable village Christians to be effective in evangelism and discipleship in their village community.

Defining ‘Village Hope’

Village: A community of dwellings / people

  • Generally small, though can vary considerably in size from 10 – 10,000 homes or more, most rural villages would fit the 50 – 2000 home bracket.
  • Generally rural, though many villages are on the edge or close to towns or cities

Village Church: A community of God’s people, however large (50+) or small (2-3) a group, who gather together for worship, prayer and Bible teaching; whether they meet in a recognised church building, community hall or home.

Hope: We believe true hope is found only in the Lord Jesus Christ and is worth sharing with all in our villages.
