Mission

‘Strengthening the churches’ (Acts 15:41)

Mission is the lifestyle of the disciple and the culture of the church.

The core of our purpose is to proclaim and live out the gospel (ie ‘mission’). We have strived to do this for more than a century. The context of our mission is villages and farming communities of rural Britain. As we see in the Great Commission, mission is central to discipleship and the extending of God’s Kingdom.

Reaching rural Britain with the gospel is a huge task and we cannot do this without ‘fellow workers of the harvest’. We seek, therefore to fulfil our core purpose through coming alongside churches and fellowships to travel the journey of mission together (Mission Partners), through encouraging and supporting mission initiatives (Mission Associates), and through working alongside other rural ministries (Ministry Coworkers).

Mission Partners

Our specific vision for mission finds its place at the centre of discipleship. This means mission is not a tag-on or optional extra, but integral to our relationship with Jesus Christ. This informs our approach, which is not about frameworks, models or packages, but an ongoing partnership to see mission at the heart of who we are as disciples, and what we do. If you would like to explore becoming a Mission Partner, please contact us.

Mission Network Events

When there is an interest expressed in a specific rural area for help in mission, we provide an opportunity to come together for a morning.

Mission Hub

When you become a Mission Partner you gain access to our Mission Hub where you will find connection, support and various tools to help you.

Mission Associates

How we proclaim and live out the gospel is creatively diverse and wherever we can we want to encourage others in their specific vision for mission. Through collaboration and our help and support, we enable others to pursue their God-given mission.

Farmgate Network is the latest to join our family of Partners and Associates.

Sharing in rural mission

We are not the only rural ministry ‘in the field’, and we recognise that each one has its distinctive call and focus. Doing things differently is a strength we support, and, where we can, we seek to stand with them. Through praying together and for each other, and providing mutual encouragement, we share in the ministry and mission across rural Britain.
