Scripture
‘Understand the times, know what to do’ (1 Chronicles 12:32)
We believe that God calls us to understand both His written word, the Bible, and the times, in order to know what to do. Our vision is of an ‘observatory’ or a ‘watchtower’ gathering ‘intelligence’: understanding the ‘times’ in the light of scripture, and applying God’s word to current issues and challenges, notably in the context of rural life and church. In particular, the Bible bears witness to the good news of Jesus Christ for all people and reveals God’s heart and purpose for mission. Paul’s ministry and methods, especially, have inspired us to seek to come alongside and strengthen and support rural believers and churches for the long-term. We develop understanding through study and research and communicate it through our websites and other publications, online seminars and conferences.
Village Link Online
Our Substack site, Village Link Online, is the main way we share insights and understanding of scripture and current issues. Here you will find bible-centred articles on rural life and faith, mission and ministry, news and notices of events, and much else.
Agriculture and Theology Project
The ‘Agriculture and Theology Project’ (ATP) was initiated by the Agricultural Christian Fellowship (ACF), in partnership with several other ministries, more than 25 years ago. It ran for some 15 years. Village Hope is now partnering with ACF to re-launch the project, which aims to develop and publish in-depth biblical and theological insights on farming and the land.
